Surprises

Surprises: Those little things in life you wish happened all the time, but if they did they would become life. It would no longer be surprising, but expected.

I love in life when you get an opportunity to blessed someone with a surprise. It is like adding a brand new day inside of an old one, or at least adding an exclamation mark in the middle of a sentence ( which should be grammatically correct, but sadly is not).

I have met a few people that find surprises to be, a bittersweet thing. They love to know you thought of them, but find it a bit out of ordinary and can not seem to find a place to stick your surprise in between their normal day to day life.I think we should surprise those people more often so then they get more comfortable with the idea of unexpected plans and gifts.

I was thinking that because today I am planning a brilliant surprise, one i am hoping that it is one of those " creating a brand new good day, inside an old one". I am a person that loves doing unexpected good things. So I am off to make someone else a little more excited today, and hope you are too.

The Course Corrector

a href="http://media.photobucket.com/image/photography/lauraswedding_2007/Photoshopped Pics/IMG_1297Duo.jpg?o=5" target="_blank">

God is a natural GPS system. The kind I would use in my car. I take a wrong turn, and right away it finds a different way for me to get there or says, do a U turn.

In life people i have realized, people think about life. They think about their successes and their failures. They look at where they are, where they came from, and where they want to be. They usually find themselves in a place asking " Is this Gods place for me" or " have I missed my calling".

Our number one purpose in life is ( drum roll please) #1 To be in relationship with God, to spend time with Him. He created us to love us, to be in relationship with us.
If we are first in relationship with God, then we should know if we are walking in our "calling".
If we are in relationship with Him, so therefore you should naturally be walking in your purpose, because out of relationship and time with God you know where and what you are suppose to be doing in that very moment.

Now, if you find yourself not in that position, but feeling that you have "missed it". Don't worry remember that God never misses it, and He is your GPS. He wants to keep us on course, and sees us on track ALWAYS. Just like that GPS no matter where you go it can get you where it was set to go. God is always for you and not against you.

In the bible it says " God is NOT a God of confusion, but of peace." So a sure sign of knowing you are maybe not following your GPS very well is... 1. you are not in relationship with God, don't know His heart, or can not hear what He is trying to tell you. Sorta like you could have your GPS on but you don't have to follow the directions. but is never stops trying to find a route from where you are. 2. You don't have peace. if you are somewhere and you think you were following your GPS well, but maybe you were on the phone, and the radio was on, and actually you hadn't realized it but you weren't listening in. You find yourself all of a sudden in the middle of no where, and uneasy...not at peace. It is NOT God. He is peace...if you don't have peace you could be in the wrong place...turn down the radio, turn off the phone, and listen in.

God wants to direct your life in the right way all the time, and He never stops working on your behalf. Use your GPS i tell you, it will take you where you need to go.

Sidenote: I recently realized that in life we are all waiting for the "grand finale" when you are in your "calling". Like the moment when you are there..." Hi, I am laura and my calling is staying right here doing this, and loving it". We are all looking for that "thing". I think the world has a different idea, like so " what do you want to do" , but what i see is that God is not a finale type of God. He has one ending and that is us with Him in heaven, 100% whole and happy and with Him. I believe that here on earth, we have appointments. They all add up to our calling. My calling is Jesus, and that may include doing random jobs or one job the my whole life...but either way its going to be for His purpose to love people. We think that when we are working a little job, and getting paid terriable...that we are wasting our time. BUT GOD. I bet you that is a moment of time where God is using you...that job is your calling in that time. We think BIG picture sometimes, and that is good. I know though that God uses the simple to confound the wise. so if you are waiting for the GRAND FINALE...you are in it now! Get the fireworks ready and enjoy living your calling every moment.
